This is The
Day, 10.30.13
Dear Levi,
My mom’s
birthday and Bailey’s. Two sweet, selfless women who have chosen to invest a
friendship in me. I am so humbled. I wish you had a mom like mine. I wish I
could be a friend to you like Bailey.
The sermon
tonight was Proverbs 2:1-10 but Pastor Gaddis preached on not giving up on God.
On seeking likea treasure hunter- he
shared the fascinating history of Mal Fisher, the world’s greatest treausre
hunter who in 1985 discovered the Alyosha Spanish galleon loaded with Spanish
silver voins and Columbian emeralds. It brough him 456,000,000$. He had been
searchign off the Florida keys for sixteen years for this ship that went down
in 1665. He became famous for always saying everying morning all those years, “This is the day.”
It was so
convicting, so inpsiring.
The galleon
existed. It required planning, effort, time and immeasurable faith.
I wish I had
faith like that.
I can’t give
up on you. Not when God keeps making the opposite painfully clear. Not when God
leads. I’m just going to have to keep praying. And beleiving. That today is the
day, little Levi. I hope you’re ready.
Your star,
Rigel
