A Second
Chance 10.28.13
Dear Levi,
I’m trying to
embrace opportunities as God sends them – like orchestrating to sing a special
with Trevor as a pianist and Leland as a celloist accompanying. Like accepting
the unexpected offer to join the ladies’ ensamble as a second soprano. Like
witnessing at work. Like landing spot #11 on the call floor with streamline
performance. Like going to Eric and Kayla’s for a game night.
That was a
second chance.
She’d been so
kind to me once before. And I’d jumped down her throat and hurt her. She’d
deleted and blocked me on Facebook ever since. Often, I’d prayed for God to
help me make it up. After all, she was marrying one of my best friends. I
highly valued Eric and his new little wife from the distance.
And by
inviting me tonight, when I was not even in the crowd… was a second chance.
Thank you, God.
It made me
wistful that bigger second chances can come true.
But I know
better.
I’ve never
have a chance with you again.
Your star,
Rigel.
